Zavala is a small, quiet place on the south side of the island. Up Zavala can be reached from the village through a narrow Pitve probiven long tunnel into the bedrock.

The old part of the village of Zavala is situated in a protected interior of the robbery and quarterback gusura that was common ancient times. Numerous sandy beaches lapped by crystal clear Zavala sea. Zavala is a small and peaceful place situated on the south side of the island. It is reached by passing through the village of Pitve and then going through a narrow, lengthy tunnel carved through the rock. The tunnel is controlled by traffic lights during the tourist season. The old part of Zavala was founded away from the sea, for protection against the marauders and pirates who used to plunder the area in the olden times. Zavala offers many pebbly beaches lapped by the crystal clear sea.
